CHPC PRESENTATION: Live MATLAB Parallel Computing Webinar-Optimizing
Date Posted: June 12th, 2020
In case you have missed the Matlab lecture that we broadcasted mid April, here is
an opportunity to participate in it again. It is provided directly
by MathWorks.
Join us for a free webinar where presenters from MathWorks will show through live
demonstrations and examples how MATLAB can help you become more effective in your
work.
Date: Wednesday, June 17th
Time: 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. ET
Venue: WebEx Event – Register Now
Optimizing and Accelerating MATLAB Code
In this session, we will demonstrate simple ways to improve and optimize your code
that can boost execution speed by orders of magnitude. We will also address common
pitfalls in writing MATLAB code, explore the use of the MATLAB Profiler to find bottlenecks,
and introduce the use of Parallel Computing Toolbox and MATLAB Parallel Server to
solve computationally and data-intensive problems on GPUs, multicore computers and
clusters.
Some of the highlights include:
- Understanding vectorization and best coding practices in MATLAB
- Addressing bottlenecks in your programs
- Scaling up to a computer cluster, grid environment or cloud
- Utilizing multicore processors and GPUS, to improve performance
