CHPC OUTAGE: CHPC experiencing network issues
Date Posted: November 4th, 2020
UPDATE #3: November 6th, 11:21 am
We picked up troubleshooting with Cisco support again this morning. With their help the network is back to running at 100%. We have done some rigorous testing this morning and cannot find any remaining issues. We will continue to monitor and will also do further post-mortem investigation into the cause of the issue.
UPDATE #2: November 4th, 5:58pm
We continue to see degraded performance and will be engaging the vendor to help troubleshoot the issue in the morning.
UPDATE: November 4th, 2:50pm
We are currently in a position of being up but not at 100%. We are still seeing some packet loss. However, users should be able to use our resources although your experience will definitely be degraded.
The Campus NOC is investigating this outage as a hardware problem and they will be replacing what is believed to be a faulty optic. This should be happening in the next hour or two.
The Campus NOC will keep CHPC posted as their troubleshooting progresses and we will continue to monitor from the CHPC side of things.

CHPC is experiencing a network outage that is impacting access to CHPC resources. We
are working on identifying and resolving the issue. At this time CHPC resources (cluster interactive nodes,
windows servers, VMs, CHPC hosted web sites) in both the general and the protected
environment are not accessible.
